High Impact Solutions Group successfully completed a 98% Sulphuric Acid Tank Desludge and Clean in readiness for a statutory 10-year inspection.

The HISG Team Mobilised to Melbourne to execute the project for Ixom, an industry leading chemical supplier in Australia.

Working closely with the Ixom site team at Yarraville, and also the Ixom Projects Team, HISG were able to execute a safe, and effective shutdown, and desludge of the tank. Using HISG’s zero interface sludge hopper, approximately 32 tonnes of acid sludge was removed from the tank and stored in 1000 litre Intermediate Bulk Containers (IBC’s) for disposal. The tank was neutralised using 10% Soda Ash and deluged with water using the industry leading concept high tank jib arm for the roof clean.

High Pressure Water was used to decontaminate the walls and floor section before being mopped and ragged clean. The result achieved surpassed the expectations of the client.
